TV or Movie Site

People all over the internet are looking to watch the newest TV shows.  The problem is, they are very hard to find.  Youtube automatically filters out copyrighted content.  Hulu only plays a select few shows.  People don’t know where to go, so they end up searching for it on google.  This is where you give them what they want, but only when they earn it from you!

Preparation

Building the site

The first thing you should do is set up WordPress on the site using fantastico if available .  Change the theme to something more exciting or use a video theme.  Then post each episode in order.  Title it “show name season # episode #” as these are popular searches in search engines.  Use the streaming content you found as the content of your posts.  If you want to publish your own videos, upload it to megavideo.com .  Then follow the instructions your gateway gives on installation in wordpress.  You could stop there, but there are other things you can do to improve your site.

• create a logo and banner for your site
• customize the gateway to look more natural to viewers
  
• add TV streaming ads from clickbank that can pay huge commisions.
• Do NOT monetize with adsense as it is against their TOS
  

Now all you need to do is insert the gateway code.  Most gateways have instructions for wordpress setup.

Site Promotion

As for any website, there are hundreds of ways to get visitors.  Since this is such a broad concept, I will not go into too much detail.  Here are some methods specific for TV or movie sites

• Create a youtube video with a snippet of the show or a trailer of the movie.  Put you web address in the annotations, sidebar, or anywhere else it could be seen.  Try this with as many episodes or trailers as you can.
• Comment on other youtube videos about your show or movie with your link.  Don’t make it look like spam.
• Yahoo answers- ask a question: where can I watch *insert show* online?  answer from another account with your link and choose it as best answer.

Look up SEO tactics if you want to compete on google.  Most of it is droppig links on web 2.0 sites.  Otherwise, you can use paid traffic from adwords to your site. This garuantees visitors to your site, but you could end up losing money.
